Respect the signage

Dear Editor

I am writing this letter in regards to the two very precious and sought after reserved parking spaces for expectant mothers and families with small children located at the Territorial Mall in front of the main entrance.

First, I want to thank the person or persons who came up with the brilliant idea. I only wish those parking spaces were more common in this city.

Having been an expectant mom and now a mom with a preschooler and a newborn in tow, I cannot express just how handy it is when I actually get to park in one of those coveted spots, especially during these winter months. However, on a number of occasions I have witnessed and taken note of vehicles with a blue handicap tag on the rear view mirror parked in one or both of those spaces, while there are 14 spaces reserved specifically for handicap parking.

All I am asking is thatany and alldrivers, handicapped or not, leave the only two spaces for familiesopen, even if they areavailable.

I know that it would be appreciated if more businesses would consider and reserve a parking space or two for expectant moms and families. It would be even better if all drivers noticed and respected the signage.
