Solid support for the food bank

Dear Editor I would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the Battlefords community for support of our annual CBI Food Bank Drive. We collected $2,014.

Dear Editor

I would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the Battlefords community for support of our annual CBI Food Bank Drive. We collected $2,014.87 and 1,800 pounds of non perishable food items for the Battlefords and District Food and Resource Centre this year. One of our main activities is our food bag drop off and pick up where we drop off bags at houses in our community and pick up the bags with non perishable food donations the following day. There was tremendous support, and generosity expressed this year, with growth over last year occurring.

Secondly, I would like to publicly thank my staff who volunteer numerous hours to collect the donations and give back to the community in which we live and work. I am proud to be part of a great crew of people that truly care about helping others.

Others also contributed to the cause. Vic Stynsky of John Paul II High School arranged additional student volunteer support and businesses contributed generously. Velma Eppen, Lawrence Kwiatkowski, Katherine McHarg, Deryle and Sarah Heit, Joyce and Walter Lewis, Elizabeth and George Rotzien and Millicent Bardwell, also supported our drive to make it more successful than last year.

We are proud to work and live in North Battleford.
