Like many people in North Battleford and area I have had to use the victim services unit at the local RCMP detachment. I continue to make use of this wonderful service although, like many, I wish I didn’t have to.
This service has had its furniture donated by Brett Wilson and stuffed dogs for children by Husky. Thank you to both Brett and Husky for making our pain and heartbreak, as well as many others’, more private.
The local detachment is also to be commended for realizing this service not only needs to be, but must be, part of a detachment — physically part of the detachment and not somewhere that must be travelled to.
When we need these services we need them immediately, in most circumstances.
My heartfelt thanks also to the wonderful people who staff victims services.
