Emergency crews respond to truck collision with wheat sculpture
Weyburn police, fire and EMS responded to the scene of a collision at noon on Wednesday, in which a black pickup truck came through the intersection of Government Road and Highway 39, and collided with one of Weyburn's iconic wheat sculptures. The driver was taken by ambulance to hospital with minor injuries. It appeared at the scene that the truck was heading in a southeast direction down Highway 39 and knocked over a sign at the intersection with Government Road before coming at an angle and smashing centre on with the wheat sculpture. Police determined that the driver was impaired, and a blood test was taken to confirm this.
