After prolonging the first round series, the Wilkie Outlaws and Paradise Hill Hawks eventually hit the ice for the third game of their series and now four teams remain in the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League playoffs.

Saturday, Wilkie was led by Rick Cey, who had five points, Robert Keller had four, Will Rathje had three, Lorne Nielsen, Barrett Penner and David Schell had two each.

Wilkie scored three times in the first period, once in the second and three more goals in the third period to take the 7-2 win.

Jamie Sparkes and Colby Gervais scored the Paradise Hill goals.

With the win Wilkie advanced with a 2-1 series win and set up their semifinal series with Turtleford.

Monday in Wilkie, the Outlaws had four first period power plays and couldn't capitalize, but did score two even strength goals. Wilkie went on to outshoot Turtleford by nearly 30 shots and won the game 7-0. Jared Herle was in net for the Outlaws and earned the win while Jesse Ehnisz was the losing goaltender.

Game two of the series is set for Friday in Turtleford. The Tigers have yet to beat Wilkie this season, as the Outlaws won 7-6, 4-3 and 8-2 against the Tigers this season.

In the other semifinal series, the St. Walburg Eagles came off their first round bye and went up against the Maidstone Jets. The Eagles won the first game of the series Sunday by a 4-2 score.

Maidstone took a 1-0 lead after the first period, but after the second period, the Eagles led 3-2 and went on to a 4-2 victory.

Randy Larre, Scott Thompson, Shane and Sheldon Williamson all scored goals for the Eagles while Shane Williamson had two assists as well. Jason Roberts and Brett Harrison scored for the Maidstone Jets.

Bryan Bridges was the winning goalie while Dustin MacDonald was in the Maidstone net for the loss.

In game two it was the same fate for the goalies and same result for the teams. This time the Eagles won 6-2 with six different goal scorers in the game played Wednesday.

The Eagles will look to punch their ticket to the league championship Friday, as they are back on home ice.
