Friedrich tees off with Team Sask.

Battleford’s Colby Friedrich has made the cut at the Canadian Junior Boys’ Championship in Medicine Hat, Alta.

However, Friedrich is a long way from contention at the national golf tournament. He was tied for 59th through two rounds with a score of plus eight.

Friedrich scored 77 for round one, but improved to 73 for round two. Helping his cause on day two were birdies on the fourth, 12th and 15th holes.

The leader through two rounds was Brady McKinlay of Lacombe, Alta. at minus three, followed by Bennett Ruby of Waterloo, Ont. and Cam Kellett of London, Ont. who were tied at minus-one.

Two more rounds were to be played with Friedrich scheduled to tee off at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday.
