The Saskatchewan Rush have announced they have signed 2016 first overall pick Ryan Keenan to a new three-year contract.

Keenan, who is the son of general manager Derek Keenan, has been a mainstay with the Rush, getting 43 points in his rookie year in 2017 and then 73 in 2018, notching eight goals and four assists in four playoff games as the Rush won the Champion’s Cup.

In the shortened 2020 season he had 18 goals and 17 assists.

“We are really excited to have Ryan on board with the Rush for three more years,” said Rush Head Coach Jeff McComb in a statement.

“Ryan is an integral part of our offence as his versatility makes all his teammates around him better players. Ryan has been able to add new elements to his game every year since he came into the league, and we look forward to watching his game continue to grow with him wearing a Rush uniform.”
