The Battlefords North Stars have added two players on loan from the Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen in advance of the 2020-21 regular season.

The North Stars announced Connon Gabruch and Blake Allan have joined the club in time for the weekend series against the Kindersley Klippers. Gabruch is a 19-year-old forward and Allan is a 19 year old centre.

With the WHL not playing until January 2021 at the earliest, they are eligible to play in the SJHL until Dec. 19.

The news of the acquisitions comes after the North Stars added two players in trades to add a veteran presence to the team's defence. Sam Witt was acquired from Kindersley for a fourth round 2021 draft pick while Riley Little was acquired from Waywayseecappo for future considerations.

The North Stars play in Kindersley Friday and have their home opener Saturday night at the Civic Centre. All 150 tickets have been sold for the Saturday contest.
