The firing of Swift Current Broncos athletic therapist Jamie LeBlanc this week for “demeaning” and “unprofessional” conduct made major news this week in the hockey world.
It turns out the move has ended up impacting the Battlefords North Stars directly.
Swift Current is turning to the Battlefords to fill the sudden vacancy. The Broncos as well as the North Stars have announced that Andrew Kutnikoff has resigned as Athletic Therapist and Equipment Manager in the Battlefords, and accepted the same position with the Broncos.
“He will be greatly missed and we wish him well,” was the statement on the North Stars’ social media feeds. Kutnikoff has been with the North Stars since the fall of 2018.
The North Stars are now seeking a new Athletic Therapist and Equipment Manager and the position has been posted on the team’s website.
