The Battlefords North Stars have now won nine of 10 games to begin the season, coming through with a 2-0 win in Estevan over the Bruins Friday, Oct. 4.

The contest was a tight one throughout, but in the end Adam Dmyterko got the shutout, stopping all 30 Bruins shots for his first shutout in the SJHL.

There was no score in the first period, but in the second, at the midway point Matthias Urbanski got his third of the season from Quintin and Elijah Loon-Stwardson.

In the third period there was a scary moment for Urbanski, who left the game after he was hit by a skate in the face. The skate belonged to Bruins defenceman Devan Harrison. After the game, the North Stars reported on Facebook that Urbanski took a dozen stiches and should be okay.

Brett Gammer got the insurance goal into an empty net to put the game in the refrigerator for the North Stars.

Next up for the North Stars on this road stretch is a visit to Weyburn Saturday night against the Red Wings.
