It was another humbling experience for the Battlefords North Stars against the Flin Flon Bombers.

The Bombers dominated the North Stars by a 6-1 score in Flin Flon on Friday in the Manitoba city. While it was not as bad as the 10-1 rout they suffered on Teddy Bear Toss night in December, it was another concerning showing for the North Stars against the team most observers see as the top threat to the North Stars' title hopes.

Flin Flon got two goals in the first period from Dane Hirst and Chase Haygarth, then two more in the second from Donavan Houle-Villeneuve (on the power play) and Alec Malo.

Austin Becker's 20th of the season, Seth Summers assisting, came at the 12:18 mark of the third on the power play, but a goal from Easton Haygarth and on the power play from Mason Martin sealed it up..

It was the worst outing of the season for the previously-reliable Kristian Lyon, who had a hard time fending off the barrage of Bombers shots fired his way. The Bombers fired 58 shots at Lyon, compard to the North Stars' 45.

A win could have clinched first overall for the North Stars; instead, it is back to the drawing board. The North Stars try again to solve Flin Flon in the rematch Saturday night.
