The first week of action from the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League is in the books, and a few teams have raced to an early 2-0 start.

Standard Hill Lakers, Lloydminster Twins, Unity Cardinals and Border City Blue Jays each had 2-0 records while Meadow Lake was 1-0. The North Battleford Midgets and Battlefords Trappers each lost their first games while Macklin, St. Walburg and the Unity midgets were 0-2.

Yet to play a game were the North Battleford Beavers, Wilkie Brewers and Edam Blue Sox, but that is set to change this week. The Beavers are scheduled to head to Edam Wednesday night for their first game and host Mervin on Thursday. Wilkie was to take on the North Battleford Midgets in North Battleford Tuesday.

Last week, the North Battleford Midgets played their first game of the league season, losing to Standard Hill at home 11-1. Other scores from last Thursday saw Border City beat Macklin 10-6 and Unity over St. Walburg 10-3.
