Here are the latest results from the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League for the weekend ending June 9.

There were five games in the league on Thursday June 6. In games involving local teams the Border City Blue Jays beat the North Battleford Beavers by an 8-2 count at home. The Beavers had come off a 9-4 loss to Mervin the previous night.

On the road the Battlefords Trappers fell to the Wilkie Brewers by a 9-5 score, just a day after beating Edam 10-0.

Other games Thursday saw Meadow Lake beat Edam 15-5, the Unity Midgets over Mervin 12-11, and the Lloydminster Twins over St. Walburg 17-3.

Sunday’s action saw Macklin lose to Standard Hill 4-1.

The last action for the North Battleford midgets was last Wednesday June 5 when they lost to St. Walburg 8-6.

League standings through Sunday had Border City on top with a 7-0 record, with Lloydminster Twins and Unity Cardinals both at 6-1 and Wilkie at 5-1-1. The Battlefords Trappers stood at 4-3, North Battleford Beavers 3-3, and the North Battleford Midgets were tied with Mervin for last in the league at 0-7.

The NB Midgets were scheduled to play Border City Monday and then host the Trappers Wednesday. The Trappers also had a road game set for Tuesday in Meadow Lake and a home game against the Twins Thursday.

The Beavers were scheduled to go on the road against the Lloydminster Twins Wednesday and versus the Unity Cardinals on Thursday.

As for individual stats, Tyler Baier led the league in runs with 14 for Macklin, with 11 for Jared Hillis of Macklin and 10 for Braden Polreis of Unity. Hillis led the league in hits with 15 with Cory Wildeman of Unity posting 12 and Macklin’s Adam Gerling and North Battleford’s Connor Neave with 11 each.
