Sask West playoffs: semifinals now on

Wilkie, Macklin both lead best-of-3 series 1-0
Wilkie Outlaws

Semifinal series are now under way in the Sask West Hockey League.

Game one is scheduled to go tonight in the series between the Wilkie Outlaws and the Hafford Hawks. The game gets under way at 8:30 p.m. at the SaskCan Community Centre in Wilkie.

Both Wilkie and Hafford made it with two-game sweeps of their respective first round series; Wilkie swept Biggar while Hafford toppled Edam. This semi-final series is a best of five affair; game two goes Feb. 21 in Hafford while game three is back in Wilkie Feb. 25.

Meanwhile the other series is under way between the Macklin Mohawks and the Kindersley Sr. Klippers. That series saw the Mohawks get an early jump in the series, winning the first game 8-0. That is also a best-of-five series.
