After a promising early portion of the season, the slide continues for the Battlefords Sharks in female AAA action as playoffs loom.

The team lost 10-2 to Saskatoon Stars Thursday in what was their final home game of the regular season at Battleford Arena.

The Stars got two in the first, three in the second and five in the third for the win. The only Sharks goals came from Sydney Rowley in the second period and Brooklyn Rowley on the power play in the third.

Saskatoon overwhelmed the Sharks with shots on goal, with 46 compared to 19 for the home team.

The Sharks return to action this Saturday and Sunday for what will likely be their final games ever against the Melville Prairie Fire. The Fire are leaving the AAA league at the end of the season.

Both games are at Horizon Credit Union Centre in Melville. The games will also wrap up the regular season for both clubs.
