All eyes of curling fans in North Battleford will be on the events in Melville at the provincial Scotties final Tuesday.

The team of Robyn Silvernagle has made it to the provincial final where they will play a familiar foe, Sherry Anderson, who defeated Ashley Howard 7-5 in the semifinals this morning.

Silvernagle qualified for the final by winning the page playoff game against Howard on Monday night. But it was no easy contest for the team based out of Twin Rivers Curling Club.

Howard took a 5-2 lead before Silvernagle came back to tie it at 5-5. Howard then took a 6-5 lead going into the tenth end. In that crucial final end, Silvernagle knocked out Howard’s stone on last rock to score two, and get the 7-6 victory.

This marks the fourth year in a row that Silvernagle has qualified for the provincial final. It is also the third straight year that Silvernagle and Anderson are meeting in the final. The Silvernagle team hopes to make it a second straight trip to the national Scotties, to be held this year in Moose Jaw. The provincial finals for the Scotties title begins at 2:30 p.m.
