There may not be an Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season for the Battlefords North Stars, but the North Stars are getting a second chance to play — in an upcoming esports tournament.

The SJHL announced they are starting the Best in Sask. Circuit Series beginning April 16.

It will be an esports gaming tournament with three rounds, with the champion being declared as the best NHL 21 player in Saskatchewan. There will be 72 contestants competing in 12 divisions, with divisions named after the 12 SJHL teams. Each division will include six contestants who will play to represent the team in the next rounds. The tournament will be played on PlayStation 4.

Registration begins April 5 and will remain open to April 12, with each contestant paying a $20 entry fee. Contestants can register and pay in the SJHL online store.
