The Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League playoffs are on and a full slate on games is on tap for this weekend as first-round series continue.

Friday night at 8:30 p.m., Battleford is the venue as the Battleford Beaver Blues try to close out the Maymont Settlers in their first round series.

Battleford leads the series 2-0 following 7-4 and 6-4 victories last weekend. If game four is needed it would go Saturday in Maymont; game five would be Sunday back in Battleford.

The Meota Combines are also looking to close out their first round series against the Spiritwood Timberwolves. Game three goes at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the North Battleford Civic Centre. Game four would go Saturday in Spiritwood and game five Sunday back in North Battleford if needed.

Last week, Meota beat Spiritwood by scores of 10-2 and 9-5 to take a 2-0 series advantage.

Game four of the Perdue-Radisson series goes Friday night in Radisson. The Pirates hold a 2-1 series lead, dropping the first game in Perdue 4-3 but winning the next two, 3-2 in double overtime in Radisson and then 9-3 back at home in Perdue. Game five if necessary would be Sunday night, 6:30 p.m. in Perdue.

Finally, Turtleford and Glaslyn face off this weekend with that series tied at 1-1 following Glaslyn’s 7-4 victory in game one and Turtleford’s 8-4 win in game two. Game three is Friday in Turtleford, game four is Saturday in Glaslyn and game five, if necessary, goes Sunday in Turtleford.
