The Battlefords AAA Stars were in action at home Tuesday night to the Saskatoon Contacts, and ended up on the losing end of a 4-1 final score.
After a scoreless first period, the Contacts got goals from Brayden Yager on the power play and then by Tye Spencer to go ahead 2-0.
Colby Ralston got the lone goal for the Battlefords with 6:40 left in period two, Carson Dobson and Matthew Henry assisting.
But the Contacts got a goal from Rylan Jockims just 39 seconds later and then Jockims scored again with 8:01 left in the third period to complete the scoring.
Shots on goal favored the Stars 39-38. Ethan Chadwick got the win stopping 38 shots; Jackson Fellner took the loss.
The Stars return to action Thursday night in Prince Albert versus the Mintos. Their next home game is Saturday night at home to Beardy’s Blackhawks; that will be their final game prior to the Christmas break.
