Stars sweep Argos

The Battlefords AAA Stars were back in the win column as they blanked the Notre Dame Argos on Saturday by 4-0 and 5-0 scores at the Civic Centre.

The Stars thoroughly dominated the first game Saturday, firing 44 shots at the Argos net. Jackson Fellner got the shutout, stopping all 17 Argos shots.

The Stars got goals from Jake Southgate and Curren Wintonyk in the first period and Easton Ediger and Payton Kostyshyn in the third period to get the victory.

Sunday was more of the same, as Fellner stopped 27 shots en route to the win. The Stars fired 54 shots at the Argos, getting goals from Vaughn Watterodt in the first, Ediger in the second, and Liam McInnis, Andrew Urbaniak and Kyle Heintz in the third period.

Next for the Stars is a trip to Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon versus the Contacts.
