Team Silvernagle into quarter-finals in Newfoundland

The North Battleford-based curling team of Robyn Silvernagle has made the playoffs at the BOOST National in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland.

The North Battleford-based curling team of Robyn Silvernagle has made the playoffs at the BOOST National in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland.

They did it by winning a tiebreaker game against Switzerland's Silvana Tirinzoni and her team by a 9-3 final score. The team was up 4-3 through six ends, but pulled awayn in the final two ends, scoring four in the eighth end to win it.

Among those tuning in the game on TV was Mayor Ryan Bater, who said on Twitter that "everyone lost their minds when they showed the final shot of the last end. We're all behind you!" 

Silvernagle now takes on Tracy Fleury of Manitoba in the quarterfinals, which take place today at 11 a.m. Saskatchewan time.
