Curling season has come to a premature end for Twin Rivers Curling Club.

The club announced Monday they have suspended all play for the remainder of the season, in a post on their Facebook page.

The club had initially announced plans to carry on and finish the remaining two weeks of the season. But they reversed course Monday as the Battlefords saw a wave of announcements of local closures and cancellations across the community.

The club stated that while they would have "loved" to have continued, they "thought it best to do our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19."

While the curling club has suspended play, Beaver Grill Restaurant is continuing its regular operations on the second floor of Northland Power Curling Centre, while taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of customers.
