Two more rounds for New Horizons

It was a beautiful day Thursday, especially for the team of Art Strueby, Ray Hoover and Fay MacKinnon, as they eagled number four and came in as the top team of the New Horizons golf at North Battleford Golf and Country Club.

It was a beautiful day Thursday, especially for the team of Art Strueby, Ray Hoover and Fay MacKinnon, as they eagled number four and came in as the top team of the New Horizons golf at North Battleford Golf and Country Club.

Remember now - it was 380 yards in two strokes. It takes me five even on a good day.

Next in line, one over par, were the Scotts (Wally and Bernice) with Bruce Dalsahug and Wally Gordey.

The third place team consisted of Merv Zulynik, Sid Waters, John Chomyn and Hank Nickel.

Kenny Schwab had his name on the card for coming closest to the pin on eight and it was Wally McNabb who gets his car washed at the Co-op for having the longest putt on nine.

The consolation winners were Ken Holliday, Don Beggs, Ralph Soiseth and Lynn Williams.

The New Horizons were back golfing Monday and numbers were up. Maybe it was because it was also a perfect day to golf and the scores showed it.

Two under par was the team of the Scotts, MacKinnon and Herman Friesen.

Coming in second, at even par, were Zulynik, Bernie Gregorie, Joe Waldbillig and John Yarske.

Three teams tied at 39 for the next position. Because of the birdie on eight, the prizes for third place go to McNabb, Allie Raycraft, Brian Miller and Beggs.

The consolation goes to John MacFarlane with Lyle and Jutta Whitbread.

Everyone gets the same prize including Brian Miller for coming closest to the pin on hole eight?

All but one of the winners receive the same prize, but with one exception, that being Lyle Whitbread who gets his car washed courtesy of the Co-op for having the longest putt on number nine.

The New Horizons are back to playing Mondays and the start times will be one hour later, 9:30 a.m.
