The North Battleford Comp Vikings head to the playoffs on a down note, dropping a 40-6 decision to the Bishop James Mahoney Saints last week.

The Saints racked up a 33-6 score by halftime on the strength of four touchdowns; three by Cullen Mendernach who rushed for 118 yards in the game, and one by Tyson Krushelniski on a 66-yard run.

The lone Vikings score was a touchdown by Uthman Amusat in the second quarter. Amusat was also the leading rusher on the Vikings that game with 12 carries for 48 yards.

Xavier Provost added a fourth-quarter touchdown run for the Saints to finish the scoring.

Quarterback Connor Neave went 10 for 19 passing for 125 yards, with two interceptions. Adam Elefson was the leading receiver for the Vikings with four pass receptions for 47 yards.

It was the final home game of the regular season for the Vikings who drop to three wins and three losses on the season.

They now head off to playoff action against the Marion Graham Falcons, a team the Vikings narrowly lost to earlier this season. The playoff game goes Saturday night, Oct. 18 at Saskatoon Minor Football Field.
